Cars

I'm a bit of a Petrol Head and love the thrill of putting my foot down whenever there is a safe opportunity.

I have only had a few cars in my time, nothing special, but all well used!  I started off with a Nissan Sunny which I brought for £300 and ran about for about 2 years.

I then brought a Volkswagen Golf which was older than the iron age.  It showed too as I think it was trying to oxidise back into the earth.  I almost lost the rear axel one time as there was so many rust holes underneath it.

I then brought a Peugeot 405, which I unfortunately crashed rather badly and had to spend almost half the amount I paid for it when getting it repaired.  That was the last time I ever asked for 3rd Party 'con'-surance.  Although it was a bit of a salesman car, I loved it nonetheless and kept if for about 7 years!

Next came a couple of company cars which were treated with all the same respect as someone would treat a Friday night hooker!  In fact, the Citreon Xantia VSX I had gave up the ghost whilst bombing down the M20 on the way back from work.  Clank........, clank........, clonk...., clonk...., thud, thud, thud.....BANG! went the sound of the bottom end falling out and bouncing down the outside lane!  Then came the MundaneO.  Green, plastic wheel trims, no AC and no electric windows.  'Nuff said.

After I left the company that gave be those illustrious cars (haha), I brought myself a Silver BMW 323i Coupe on a P Plate.  Perhaps the nicest and most enjoyable car I've had so far (although I wouldn't say that too loud in case I offended my current ride).

The BM was really reliable and served me well for about 4 years until the prospect of having another baby made us choose a bigger car.  Along came the Mondeo Zetec S.  It was a V6 24v beast with all the charm of the M1 (where it belongs) and handling characteristics of a cross channel ferry.  Needless to say that after scrapping both sides of the car trying to get it into small spaces I got completely fed up with it.  I never thought I'd hate a car, but yep, I hated that one.  Actually, it was more of a 'love/hate' relationship.  I loved the look of the car (and still do), but I hated driving it as it was far too big for me, so it had to go and be replaced with something smaller.

My current ride is an '02 Focus, 2 door (or 3 if you want to be pedantic), Panther Black and slightly modified with a Koni Adjustable kit and 18" Fox R2 alloys.  Nice.  Well, I like it anyway :P

So what will come next?  Being realistic I'd like one of several cars.  Top of the wish list is a Nissan R34, but that is probably a bit too much for me to run as a daily drive.   Next would be an M5, the 'middle' shape, i.e. not the new one, but then not the really old one.  Or, perhaps a Boxter S?  It'll likely be the later as I really want a 2 seater to play in, but who knows.  I'll probably end up with a Focus RS or perhaps a Escort Cossie.  Now either of them would be just as fun!
