Oliver was born on 13th September 2001 - he was 8 weeks early and weighed 3lb 9oz and gave us something to worry about at that time.

However, nothing really compared to the worry we had when Jacob was born on 31st March 2004; he was 12 weeks early, weighed only 2lb 1oz and had a lot more to deal with.

Jacob is definitely our Miracle Baby. He was diagnosed as being profoundly deaf soon after he came home from hospital and Collette and I slowly came to terms with it and over the next few months began the necessary steps to learn BSL in order to be able to communicate with him.  After weeks of consideration and consultations, we started the process of being assessed for a Cochlea Implant only to discover the most wonderful news we could have ever heard.

Jacob was no longer profoundly deaf!

Both ourselves and Jacobs many consultants are still unsure of how his hearing has recovered to such a normal level.  Our only hope is that his hearing remains and that he grows up to be a happy boy.  We most definitely will try our best to make sure he is!
